Dear Friends

Dear Friends,

We are writing to share a burden the Lord has placed on our hearts after much prayer. We believe He may be calling us to start a church in the Oxford area. We realize you may have some questions–

Why? We believe that God is calling us to do this which is in itself sufficient. However, this is not the only factor. We know of several families who have a desire to be a part of a local body of believers but for whatever reasons are currently without a church home. We also want to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who do not know Him.

Why Us? Tim was saved in 1995. In 1996, he felt the Lord’s calling and surrendered to ministry. Since that time, Tim has taken seminary classes and served in various ministries to gain experience and training. Jennifer was saved in junior high. She has a heart for children and has worked for many years in VBS and Awana.

Why You? We are writing to you for two reasons.

First, would you pray for us as we seek God’s will for this ministry?

Second, would you consider meeting with us to talk about this new ministry?

Our vision for this church would center on the following key attributes:

· Jesus Christ-The foundation of this ministry is on a person—Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He is the only way. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

He is the chief cornerstone. Ephesians 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more

strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the

household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and

prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.

· The Word of God—All teaching must be centered on the truth of God’s Holy Word and not man’s ideas.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for

doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man

of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

1Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word

of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

· Close FellowshipThe church should be built on close personal relationships where believers walk out their faith together in genuine love. The pastor models himself after the true shepherd and knows all of his sheep and loves and cares for them.

Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread

from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the

church daily such as should be saved.

1Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.

John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

What’s Next? There is much more we want to share. We are hosting a time to talk about this further. We invite you to come to our home on Sunday August 31st at 4 p.m. Please feel free to invite anyone else you know who may have an interest. Also, you are welcome to contact us at anytime.

Yours in Christ,

Tim and Jennifer Eaton
